About Us

About Us

The Fifeshire Postings Company was founded by Charles Fisher in 1919. Originally based in Hunter Street, Kirkcaldy, the local company started with seven-horse drawn coaches as hearses. In 1928, the company bought its first truck (a Ford) and started out in worldwide shipping, including haulage and removals. Various government contracts as well as our specialist service in the funeral sector ensured that the company expanded. It was not until 1931 that the last horse was sold!

Fife Funeral Services, as it is now known, has stayed within the family. The recent passing of Gordon Fisher (grandson) and Billy Fisher (great-grandson) has seen the reins passed to Billy’s sister Tracy and her husband Ian, Elliot her brother, and son-in-law John.

They are all committed to the business and will ensure that the legacy of care and service to the community continues for the next 100 years.
